In morocco

Haven't posted for a bit and know that many have been eagerly awaiting.

First, my Philly Marathon was my best yet and after eight of these things, I was happy to fully follow my own advice. When we do the program with students, we are consistently reminding them to keep a steady and manageable pace. Id only us adults always did what we said to do. On this one I really did. I started out gauging myself with a 12 minute mile knowing I would hit in earlier, stop for walks on any balance time and still bank some miles. I did this and ended up with my best time yet coming in closer to 5 hours. If I can pull it in to11:45 or 11:30 next one around, even better.

Sad to say-as many now know - that this was a sad day in our running community. Two runners died during the marathon; both apparently close to the finish line. One,from what I've read, was an extremely experienced runner and triathlete that died of cardiac arrest. Not much other news on the other.

I guess our best takeaway can be that as much as we value these experiences, none of us is invincible. the best thing we can do-and still no iron clad laws to apply here-is to be
Checked out before these runs. As a heart patient, I typically do but just as important for others.

Anyway, I've been in morocco for 3 days an will add more tomorrow
